Women of Northern California: Making Meaning for Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow
Wednesday, March 1 – Saturday, April 1, 2023
Reception: Saturday, March 4, 7-9pm
Group exhibition of Northern California women artists coinciding with Women’s History Month.
Curated by Sarah Poisner, this exhibition includes work from a wonderful group of artists including: Ruth Asawa, Joan Brown, Squeak Carnwath, Jay DeFeo, Mildred Howard, Hung Liu, Deborah Oropallo, M. Loiuse Stanley, and many others. My 2013 drawing Lust (after Ensor), has never been displayed before. It commemorates the thirteen-hour-long filibuster performed by Texas State Senator Wendy Davis to block passage of anti-abortion legislation in 2013.
